open media box now out!

    iv just tested the new open media multi box that has been released....it can be used as a satellite reciever aswell as a cable reciever simultaneously...it uses the dreambox software and also has a pvr function..it has a twin circuit board built in and its priced at around £110...anyone else used this box or am i the first?

    Its been out for months so no there are plenty that have used one.

    I havent counted them :) There are quite a few as it has been released months now as said.

    I had a look at one back in June of last year. As said dual tuner with dual ICs basically a Dreambox for both Sat and Cable. So a neutrino or enigma image of your choice from the DM world will work.

    You have to manually switch between cable and sat tuners, no big deal though. You can also run a motorised sat system from it, which is not recommended when using a DM500s due to power supply issues.

    It also has quite a good tuner. So all in all you cant ask for any more from a box at that price. BTW I am sure they have dropped in price.

    i think the chapstalking about the open media cc version,not the previous one,since the power output on the old one used a 12v output,the new one is different..my mate has one and it easily moves the motorised dish and it works just fine....i might get one if things change in the next month or so./...
