Hey guys, first post on afterdawn but have been finding the info here to be a great help.

So heres the situation. I have softmodded my xbox with the Ndure + UnleashX (hotswap) method. All went fine.

Next I replaced UnleashX with XBMC, kept UnleashX on the Xbox to run it as an app. This also went fine.

Now I am trying to install a 120 GB hard drive in the xbox. (Model: WD1200AB) I have been following the tutorial: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/366945

I have installed Evox as an application and have also tried to to use ConfigMagic to backup my eeprom.

All of the tutorials say that the eeprom should be in E:\Backup\. I have also read that eeprom.bin should be 256 kb in size.

After using Evox and ConfigMagic, I have eeprombackup.bin, eeprombackup.txt and eeprombackup.cfg all located in E: (not in sub-directory) When I FTP these files to my PC, the file explorer lists the file size for all 3 as 1KB, but when I look at the files in my FTP client, the file sizes are smaller. When viewing eeprombackup.bin in the FTP client, the file size is listed as 256 bytes.

Am I actually getting the eeprom backed up?

When I burn the ISO, hook the 120GB hard drive into my pc, and boot from the burned ISO....I go to the correct menu and type "unlockhd -a"
It searches for my eeprom.bin (I renamed eeprombackup.bin to eeprom.bin and put it in the eeprom folder in the xboxhdm directory) and says that it cannot find eeprom.bin on the CD.

I have tried everything I can find and still no go.

    Suggestions?

you got the right eeprom. you can check it by downloading the LiveInfo tool. open your eeprom in that program, it will display your eeprom information amongst the serial number of your xbox (on the sticker on the bottom of your xbox. you can check that way that you have the correct eeprom.bin).

with the cd giving you an error, it appears to be quite case sensitive. i also had the same problem. i just copied the eeprom.bin to a floppydrive and where you type lockhd -a choose option 1 (floppydrive)

Thanks. Got it working. Xbox now has functional 120 GB hard drive:) Now comes the time consuming task of ftp'ing tens of thousands of roms over to it...
