RS232 box-t prop

    Well guys me again with another issue unfortunately.got everythin ready for the flashin of my box-t.plugged in the usb to serial only to realise the serial wont fit my box.The cable is usb a type male/db9 male.I tried connecting usb/serial cable to my monitor to comp cable and ran the firmware,got to downloading but flash keeps failing.HELP!!!!!!..:)

    You connected what??!! The serial cable to your computer monitor ??

    The USB- SERIAL adaptor goes into your computer (USB END TO USB PORT ON COMPUTER), serial end you plug your null modem cable into and the other end of the null modem cable into the back of your box.

    Soory mate my bad explanation.I went to flash my box-t.pulled out the usb serial cable,installed it in the pc,went to plug it into my box but its a differint connection on my box.theres pins on the box connection and pins on the usb cable so i cant plug it in if ya get me.tried plugging the usb/serial cable into my monitor to pc cable and then into my box and ran the firmware but just said flash failed.Hope you understand because im lost with it..Thanks..

    Do you have the NULL MODEM cable ?

    Ye well i taught the monitor cable was a null modem cable no?.same fittings and looks identical.i jus connected the usb/serial cable to this and then to the box and ran set up ya no..Thanks for ur help by the way mate..

    NULL MODEM is 9 pin female to female. Your monitor lead is 15 pins.

    You need a NULL MODEM cable, and only a NULL MODEM cable will do, serial cables look the same but are wired differently.
