your gonna need three programs but they are all free go to mrbass.org and get dvd decrypter if you already have nero installed you won't need it next download dvd shrink and go to dvdidle.com and get dvdfab hd decrypter look on the site for the free one. Guides to how to best use these programs are on afterdawn site and all over the web basically you will rip the dvd using dvdfab then you will reauthor and if needed shrink the size of the dvd video using shrink this will allow you to put a full movie on a smaller single layer dvd disc as most commericial discs are dual layer and it can be set to automatically begin burning using dvd decrypter. Search the guides for more details.

Do this, and Imgburn , imho, is the beast there is for dvds (free too)

    From 1bonehead

You have found a newer movie that shrink cannot handle.Soooooo

    1) decrypt to HDD with dvdfab HD (free version) Or use paid for version
    2) process files (all) with fixvts
    3) shrink files with dvd shrink, output as iso/image to HDD
    4) burn iso/image file with IMgburn

    all programs are free

    Imgburn, free from
    http://www.imgburn.com

    fixvts, free from
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_...ools/fixvts.cfm

    dvdfabHD free from
    http://www.dvdfab.com

    dvd shrink 3.2.0.15

    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm

and a guide to use all the programs

I've never had to use fixvts ever but other than that the steps mentioned work just fine I kinda stuck with dvd decrypter haven't used image burn does it link up with shrink the way decrypter does. Here is a guide to using DVDfab hd decrypter however keep in mind with the free version you will rip to your hard drive then use the other tools to process the remaining steps of your burn. Here is a guide for DVD shrink keep in mind were it says open disc you instead will be opening folder browse to DVDfab's folder its in my documents open the said disc with shrink and follow the guide. http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/dvdshrink31-main.htm

    @boris

Since you've been using the programs that work for you, you can continue to do what you've been doing except you will need to Rip the DVD to you're HDD with DVDFab Decrypter and open the files with shrink and do what you've been doing.

All the advice you got above is right on; and iluvendo gave it to you on a silver platter. You'll need DVDFab because Shrink won't open newer protected discs. So start by learning how to use it, and ultimately use the newer programs as you learn one at a time. Your backups will be better in the long run. We all started with what you're doing, years ago.:)
