Hello all, Does anyone know about a program that strips a DVD (already decrypted) of any extras we choose like extra soundtracks, subtitles etc ... but leaves the video files untouched ?? I've been trying DVD2OneX, and that one's great for choosing all the extras you want to get rid of, but the compression algorythm isn't great for long movies... DVDRemaster's algorythm is great, but you waste space with extra soundtracks and subs that you will never use, and can't get rid of with this soft... A mix of the two would be great !! thanks
I have never done this but in DVD2OneX you can select the size of the output file. So if you choose a similar size to the original one I guess it will not compress the DVD at all but you can still get rid of all the things you do not want. Once that is done you can use now DVDRemaster to do the final compression. Just a thought. Let me know if it works.
Well, I tried that already, but the output is always 4,1 GB, with the video compressed ! I'll try an outrageous number like 10 gb and let you know...

Well, Londor, It turns out you were right !! by setting an output file size greatly above the input one (I tried 9000 mb for a 7,7 gb dvd) DVD2OneX does stip the dvd of all the extras I don't want, and leaves the video files unaltered ! Using DVDRemaster's compression algorythm (BEST quality possible takes about 9 hours on a powerbook G4 1,25MHz / 512 RAM) gives out impeccable results ! Now, all this work to burn on a bad quality media pretty much ruins it !! So, does anyone know of a way to test the blank media PRIOR to burning it ?? Thank you
I had never used the Downsizer recompression module in DVDRemaster 1.2 but I must admit that the quality you get is really good though it is not the fastest program around. It took 5 hours and 20 minutes on my Dual G5 1.8 with 512 Mb RAM using the best quality setting. _X_X_X_X_X_[small][/small]
Yeah, definetely not the fastest, but on a movie like Lord of the rings 2, the difference is enormous !! When you're not pressed by time, it's worth the "wait" (I launch it at night, and in the morning, it's done !) bye ps makes me want to upgrade to the dual G5 though ...! But then again, the race never ends !!
