Nothing but black screens

    I have downloaded a x-vid (.avi) file and want to burn it to a DVD+RW (make sure no mistakes). I have done it through toast 6 already, and I got just a black screen. I also tried to get it into dvd studio pro 3...black again. What format should I convert the file so it will work properly in toast or DVD studio?
