    1) I just purchased a G5 2.0, with an 8X burner. Is it recommended to burn movies at slower speeds or will quality and reliablity be the same if I burn at 8X?

    2) If 8X's is OK, which 8X media are the most reliable?

    Thanks

I know but there is not one in english. Copy all the text and paste in Sherlock to have it translated.

    Anyway you only have to:

    1. Download the firmware you want.
a- 1.16 unofficial. Makes the drive zone free, burn all DVDs at the maximun speed and takes the rip speed up to 12x
b- 1.18 official. The drive stays as it is but supports all the latest x8 media.
    2. Make sure there is no disc in the drive and no applications are running.
    3. Double-click on "PIONEER DVR-107 Updater"
    4. Once it is finished (about 1 minute) you have to reboot and it is done.

I just assumed that you have a Pioneer DVR-107 Superdrive. Please check that is the case before applying any firmware.
