    I am a NewB too and I get the whole Mod Chip Thing but what is an HDD? and what do i need a new hard drive for, my Xbox or My computer....
    Yes I am a very big IDIOT and dont know anything... Gimme some clues and all that Shinanigahns.

    the harddrive is for your xbox so you can turn it into the most amazing game, movie and music machine.
    the harddrive stores a copy of all the games. also
    your music gigs and gigs of it! the xbox comes with a 8 gig , you need: bigger is better 160 very cool size
    250gig oh yea.

    A hard drive is like a HUGE memory card, some better then others. The more gigabytes the more music and games they can hold. If that is of any help to you. Any questions let me know! TTYL
