    Hello All
Can anybody tell me what experiences they have had
using Ati ALL-IN-WONDER 9800 PRO card.
I am wanting to convert all my formula one VHS
tapes to DVD and put menus in them also.
Will this card be able to do this for me.
I tried reading many reviews on this card but the
reviews dont cover actual video editing experience.
Also, with this card and software suplied..is it
all i need to make the files for dvd to burn.
I picked this software because i hope it is very
easy to use and gives excellent results.
    Thankyou very much and very
    nice forum

You need to digitize your analog video (VHS) to get it on your computer. There are various ways to do this.

    1) Capture card with analog inputs. I'm not familiar with the All in Wonder Card, but it may provide this feature.

    2) Convert analog signal to digital prior to putting it onto your hard drive with an external device that converts the signal.

    a. ADS Tech Instant DVD converts the analog input to MPEG

    b. Aver Media's DVD Ezmaker does the same

But I've not been real happy with choices a and b, I just provided them here as examples. See the following thread:

    c. You can run an analog source through a digital camera if it has a pass through. See the following thread:

I highly recommend that you spend some time researching before jumping in. Check out afterdawns forum completely:

It's confusing when you're first starting out, but the more you read, the more it will start making sense.

I'd also search google and afterdawn with terms such as analog capture, capture cards, video capture. Another approach it to just buy some equipment, try it out, and return it if your not satisfied.

    Good Luck.
