What is the audio quality on albums/music cd's you buy in a store? I always thought it was .WAV quality, but people are saying things like '192kbps or higher MP3 is Better than cd quality' Could somebody plz clear this up for me. Thx

To some, a 192kbps mp3 file may sound transparent. But to to suggest that am mp3 file is of higher quality than an original retail CD is just wrong. The term "CD Quality" is incorrectly used as a preset setting for some encoders, which will encode source material at 128kbps. In that case, a 192kbps mp3 file is better than "CD Quality".
