Is there a way to automate the process of the xbox OS files be placed in the correct locations instead of manually transferring the C and E into to new or restored HDD? What app can do this?

    there isn't one...
you have to do it manually...
or just get a modchip since it will override missing files etc..

AID 3.1 if you have a softmodded Xbox
Slayer 2.7 if you have a mod chip
    they are called auto installers
but those are only updated every so often so you are limited to the versions they have in the last release. BUt not only do they have dashboards, but about every application you could ever want to use for your Xbox.
Personally i like Slayer 2.7 better as the options seem better and a bit easier to use. I think you can use it on a softmodded box as long as you are only doing basic thinks like updating your programs or switching dashboards.
