I have a game that I need to backup and was wondering if any of you were getting a read data error of sort like every 5 seconds. I'm curious what it is? I'm using Alcohol 120%. I mean I got the game backed up I just had left it to burn for like 3 hours cause I thought if I slowed the speed it would work. My question is what are these read errors? I'll get log up soon.
    Thanx

Your game is probably SafeDisc protected. It's normal to see a steady stream of errors at the beginning of a read on a SafeDisc protected game - it's part of how the protection works.

Have you scanned the game with A-Ray Scanner to determine the protection/version number?

Can I use Alcoholer to check what protection/version it is? Does it matter? So what do all those read errors mean?

It's said that A-ray scanner is as accurate as you can get. As Nephillim said, those errors are probably the protection, nothing to worry about.

Oh okay, so I shouldn't use clonexxl. So I'll delete that and I'll use A-Ray Scanner. Also Should I delete Alcoholer? I'm not quite sure what it does but I think it's related to Alcohol 120% plus it's related to clonexxl, but I'm not good with protections... I just want to make a back up of one of my protection cd because my brother messed up my previous games like empires dawn of the mod wor.... So I wasn't too happy about it.... Anyways I hope this works....
Do you happen to know where I can find a manual or guide on backing up protected cd's? like game cd's....
    Thanx for all your time

I'm trying to backup a protected game cd. My brother uses it and I don't want any scratches on it or I'll just use the burned one instead of the original......

BlindWrite isn't free but it's worth every penny they ask for it.

What game are you trying to back up?

Okay here's the situation. I got "Empires dawn of the modern world" backed up to my computer and I can play safely from it using Daemon tools. Now... The problem is burning it to a cd. Any guide or tips I can know on how to burn the image to a cd... I ripped the image through Alcohol 120%...
Hoped this helps... I really want to burn this cd cause I really don't want my brother playing with it. Maybe with the backed up one...cuz he scratches it like he!!~
