I purchssed a usb 16x Iomega burner a few months ago, it has a 1008ui drive inside. I needed it for my emachines laptop with AMD 1788 Mhz processor. It connects alright to comp but when I try to disconnect it using the "safely remove hardware" it crashes comp and I get "bad pool caller" error, something about accessing a IRQ that is to high. I tried it on my Dell 4550 desktop and it does the same thing. I sent it back to mfr. and got back another drive a 1008ui, and same thing still occurs. Does someone know if this is just a hardware problem and not something messed up in comps, and should I just write this drive off as a loss, or can something be done?
