IF the battery is not there that is a major problem. You will need one. I would recommend looking up its specs from Sony manual or online at Sony. First see how much Sony will rip you off for one. Then go to Radio Shack (if your in North America) and see how much they charge. IF compatible voltage and approximate size, buy from which ever is cheaper. This could be the very source of you problems!
The password for sony bioses are written on the flash rom as part of the firmware, so don't waste your time.
