Burning .avi files onto CD-R's?

    I have two .avi files that I would like to burn onto cd-'rs.
    I use HP CD Writers to burn and they use Easy CD creator to burn the files onto the disk.
    The Easy CD creator I have at work won't burn .avi files (I haven't looked around to see what other types of files it will burn).

    Is there something I can do to make them into files that will work?

    Are you just burning the AVIs as data CDs or trying to encode AVI to a VideoCD (so that you can watch it with your DVD player)?
