I have a number of mpeg-1 files that I would like to burn to DVD using nero vision 3.0.1.18. My question is, will the quality be better (i) if I burn these files directly with nero verion, or (ii) if I convert them to DVD files (VIDEO-TS) and then burn them with Nero vision? Or does it make no difference? I realise the quality of the original mpeg-1 files will be determinative, but I'm wondering which of the above methods degrades this aleady low quality further. Of course, when I transcode I will have the quality setting turned up to high. Any advice appreciated, P
I would just suggest to try some files to see if it is worth putting them on a DVD as opposed to a VCD or SVCD. I have never used any mpeg 1 files with NeroVision, so I can't give you any guidance in this area. I would think using a high quality setting might be wasted, depending on whether you want to put as many files as you can fit on a DVD or just one. NeroVision may set up the files for a lower quality setting, so you might want to check what it is using.
