I have a maddog 12x burner and use Ritek 8x DVD+Rs. I use both DVD Shrink and Decryptor and some movies come up fine but some do not. The ones that do not either just freeze about 3/4 of the way through or they start to get all pixilated. More seem to just freeze up. Also some seem to play on my JVC player but not my sony and vice versa. Most the time I even reauthor just to get the movie, but that does not seem to help. 1. Any ideas why some work and some do not? 2. Are there settings I should change in decryptor or shrink to help with this problem? 3.Do you recommend using copy2dvd? If so where can I get it? 4. What is optimal burning speed? Where is this set? Any help/suggestions on what I can do to increase the % of quality burns would be greatly appreciated because I am getting a lot of coasters from movies that just don't play right. I have tried numerous media and ritek is suppossedly one of the better ones, but I'm stll having issues with no idea why. I even bought a 2nd dvd player(Sony) and it seems to play even less than the JVC. Thanks Heeseop
i would try slowing down the burning speed to 4x if you haven't already also be sure to NOT use computer for ANYTHING during encoding and burning it is definitely not in the dvd players because i have 2 Sony players and have tried several different brands of discs in them and they play them all i have done several hundred and have not had them reject a disc yet
Your problem really seems to come down to one thing your burning speed. A lot of stand alone players don't like the faster speeds keep it below x4. To set the burning speed go into Decrypter and select "Mode" "ISO" "Write W" you will see in bottom right hand corner write speed. Good Luck and I hope this helps
Thanks Everyone. I wil make sure to change my speed because I'm pretty sure it was set at higher than 4.
I tried at x4 and it still did not work. I will try at 2x and see what happens. Any other ideas? Thanks
DITO!!! ^^^^^ Adjusting Target Size In DVD Shrink Ok do this and you should have no more problems. Open DVD Shrink Click on "Edit" Go To "Preferences" Under "Preferences" You will see a little drop down box. This is where you need to change your target size Put the drop down box on "Custom" Then in the box to the right of that type in "4300" GB Hit Ok and use Shrink as normal WinXP SP2 AMD Athlon XP 2400+ (2.01GHz) 1GB DDR 3200 ATI All In Wonder 9600 Burners Nec 2500A / Pioneer DVR 105
