Can an External Hard Drive be hacked when the power is off?

    Can an External Hard Drive be hacked when the power is off? Does it have to be disconnected from the Computer? Thanks in advance!

    How can something be hacked if it's off? It can't. And no, it doesn't have to be connected to the computer, but it does have to be connected to something.

    moved to correct forum. even a computer turned off can't be hacked.
