    i'm looking to purchase a external dvd-/+ burner can you yall give me some suggestion the best ones or good ones please if you know of any. and what the highest write speed the highest i seen was 18x i would like the highest write speed avalible. thank you.

    Look at LiteOn's - I have a few & one is an external - great drives.

    18x would be the highest for an external that I've seen. 20x for an internal.

    I'm not sure if LiteOn has a 18x external - but no media is rated higher then 16x.

    If you have your heart set on getting an 18x external check the specs on it some require higher processor speeds & ram.
