Hello - I had been using DVD-Shrink & Nero hapily for quite a while. Suddenly it stopped working. I have read just about every post where people have had the same problem & I have done EVERYTHING that was advised. I'm using branded DVDs, I have the latest firmware, have reinstalled. Please note I can't burn using DVD shrink OR Nero by itself - It's a brand new bloody drive! The only thing that might be the problm is I *was* using a cracked copy of nero, this may have expired or gone bad or whatever. Anyway, I have now uninstalled it & installed an OEM version that came with my burner. I'm thinking the cracked copy might have messed up my registry. My log is below: Thanks so much in advance Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: File 'Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=4.60 (1021), size=45056 bytes, created 13/01/2002 23:42:38 ahead WinASPI: File 'F:\Program Files\Ahead\nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.68, size=160016 bytes, created 22/07/2004 17:33:44 Nero version: 6.3.1.25 (Nero Express) Recorder: <PHILIPS DVDR1640P> Version: P2.4 - HA 1 TA 1 - 6.3.1.25 Adapter driver: <atapi> HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ATAPI CD-ROM: <TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-M1612>Version: 1004 - HA 1 TA 0 - 6.3.1.25 Adapter driver: <atapi> HA 1 === Scsi-Device-Map === CdRomPeripheral : TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-M1612 atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : PHILIPS DVDR1640P atapi Port 1 ID 1 DMA: On DiskPeripheral : ST3120026AS 3.05 si3112r Port 2 ID 0 DMA: Off === CDRom-Device-Map === TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-M1612 I: CDRom0 PHILIPS DVDR1640P J: CDRom1 ======================= AutoRun : 1 Excluded drive IDs: WriteBufferSize: 83886080 (0) Byte ShowDrvBufStat : 0 BUFE : 0 Physical memory : 1023MB (1048052kB) Free physical memory: 639MB (654660kB) Memory in use : 37 % Uncached PFiles: 0x0 Use Static Write Speed Table: 0 Use Inquiry : 1 Global Bus Type: default (0) Check supported media : Disabled (0) 15.1.2005 UDF/ISO compilation 21:17:40 #1 Phase 112 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1855 DVD-Video files reallocation started 21:17:40 #2 Phase 114 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1855 DVD-Video files reallocation completed (no file modified) 21:17:40 #3 Text 0 File Isodoc.cpp, Line 6083 Iso document burn settings ------------------------------------------ Determine maximum speed : FALSE Simulate : FALSE Write : TRUE Finalize CD : TRUE Multisession : FALSE Burning mode : DAO Mode : 1 ISO Level : 1 (Max. of 11 = 8 + 3 char) Character set : ISO 9660 Joliet :FALSE Allow pathdepth more than 8 directories : FALSE Allow more than 255 characters in path : FALSE Write ISO9660 ;1 file extensions : TRUE 21:17:40 #4 Phase 111 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1855 DVD-Video files sorted 21:17:40 #5 Text 0 File Reader.cpp, Line 126 Reader running 21:17:40 #6 Text 0 File Writer.cpp, Line 124 Writer PHILIPS DVDR1640P running 21:17:40 #7 ISO9660GEN -11 File geniso.cpp, Line 3899 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 21:17:40 #8 ISO9660GEN -11 File geniso.cpp, Line 3899 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 21:17:40 #9 Text 0 File Burncd.cpp, Line 3152 Turn on Disc-at-once, using DVD media 21:17:40 #10 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 247 Last possible write address on media: 2295103 (510:01.28, 4482MB) Last address to be written: 2233439 (496:19.14, 4362MB) 21:17:40 #11 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 259 Write in overburning mode: NO (enabled: CD) 21:17:40 #12 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 2162 Recorder: PHILIPS DVDR1640P, Media type: DVD+R 21:17:40 #13 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 420 >>> Protocol of DlgWaitCD activities: <<< ========================================= 21:17:40 #14 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 813 Setup items (after recorder preparation) 0: TRM_DATA_MODE1 (CTransferItem) 2 indices, index0 (150) not provided original disc pos #0 + 2233440 (2233440) = #2233440/496:19.15 relocatable, disc pos for caching/writing not required/required, no patch infos -> TRM_DATA_MODE1, 2048, config 0, wanted index0 0 blocks, length 2233440 blocks [PHILIPS DVDR1640P ] -------------------------------------------------------------- 21:17:40 #15 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 984 Prepare recorder [PHILIPS DVDR1640P ] for write in CUE-sheet-DAO DAO infos: ========== MCN: "" TOCType: 0x00; I never actually saw your address, I thought you already removed it. I was just advising on why it shouldn't be posted. Jerry
Cracks shouldn't be discussed. However, to completely clean your registry of Nero, uninstall Nero, then use nero clean tools to completely remove any remnants left in the registry after the uninstall. here's the link at the bottom of the page if you don't have it: http://www.ahead.de/us/FAQs_Tools_Utilities.html
