I have been burning DVD's for a few weeks now and I cant seem to get a single dvd to play completely without stopping, stuttering or hesitating. I have an AMD 2400+ with 512MB ram, 80 gig HD. I am using Nero 6 Ultra edition for my Optrite DVD burner model number DD0405. 8x dvd+/-r, 4x dvd+/-rw. I burn at 4x speed only. The movies play well off my hard drive but once burned they have problems in my dvd players(both home and computer players) Any reasons why this may be happening?

could be bad media or are you using your computer during encoding or burning?

I am not using my pc during burning. I was reading other threads about some special dvd's to use and may try those.
As said by ScubaPete in another thread "...here is some recommended media, [bold]RiData, Sony, TDK, Ritek G04, Verbatim DataLife, Verbatim DataLife Plus [/bold]media boasting [bold]"Advanced Metal AZO"[/bold], Taiyo Yuden's and generally, almost any discs manufactured by Mitsubishi are excellent bets." I will try this first and let you know
