I've got an mpeg file thats 2.74gb in size. I cant remember where in this forum, but someone suggested to use Windows Media Encoder to compress files. On my machine Windows Media Encoder takes forever! Can anyone recommend anything else to compress my mpeg file to a decent size without loss of quality and is (free) faster than Windows Media Encoder???

    Thanks in advanced.

You cannot compress ANY file (encoding or transcoding) without quality loss. Do you know the specs on the file?
