What problems are you having splitting the Xvid with Vdub?

You havent really given enough info on the problem you are experiencing.

One problem you might be experiencing is the lack of an xvid codec.

Thanks for replying. Virtual dub says
' couldnt locate decompressor for format 'xvid'.
virtual dub requires a video for windows (vfw)compatible codec to decompress video.'

I don't know what to do. The file plays fine in realone player but it won't open for me to cut it in vitual dub. Its strange because when i've done it before its always worked but then those files havn't been xvid.
Is there anything you think of for me to do?thanks

Defenitely sounds like a codec problem.

Download a program called AVIcodec from the software section of this website or just do a google search on it.

After installing load your Xvid.AVI and at the bottom of the window you will see the details for the Video in the second line item. at the end of the details you will see whether your system has the correct codec installed to support the AVI. It will eaither say Supported or Unsupported.

If it says unsupported just click on the web button out to the right of the line that video information is on and it will take you right to the web site of the codec you will need to support your AVI. Just download the Xvid codec and install.

    Download AVIcodec here:
    http://avicodec.duby.info/

Koepi's Xvid codec is in the sowftware section of this web site. Sorry totally forgot about that. hehehehe ;-)
