Hi I tried to use Maxell DVD-R's on my HP dvd writer 400c but when i opened dvd decrypter and before i could burn it, it said medium not present. I have no idea why it said that because i burned with kodak DVD+R's . So im guessing its the dvd burner but i dont know what to do from here. Anything to help this would be appreciated

Look into updating your firmware. That might help. I would look on HP's website to start. Good luck

I just looked on HP's website and it looks like your drive only supports the + media not the - media

Ohhh I see Veblin beat me to it. LOL :)
