DVD-rom drive no longer reads anything.....

    working fine then it stop reading anything....tried to uninstall-install...still same problem...put in drive and it still says to insert disk

    possible solutions?

    Yes, it sounds like your DVD-rom drive is faulty.
    You'll have to buy a new one.

    You need to give more information - hardware used, software, etc. It could just be a dirty DVD (if we're even talking about DVDs here). Does the computer recognize the drive when you go to 'my computer'? Etc.
