Check and make sure your drive is in DMA mode.

Also how is the drive installed on your computer? example Primary, Slave, how is the jumper set, and where is it located on the IDE cable?

If you have nero you should be able to find out the brand of your drive in Nero Info Tool. This would help a lot so you could download Firmware and drivers.

:) There isn't any jumpers on IDE cables. I meant the jumpers on the Drives. What you need to do is get in your computer and see exactly what drive you have in there so we can flash your firmware ;-)

Can you browse the DVD (Not watch it just look at it threw explorer)?

Will your Writer (nec 2500) play the DVD's?

Also what operating system are you using?

What software player do you use to play the DVD?

Open up your PC and pull the 2 cables attached to your Drive 1 IDE Cable and 1 power cable, and maybe a audio cable (The smallest one) Take out the 2 to 4 screws that hold your drive in place and then slimply slide your drive foward. No read the lable on the top or bottom of the drive and get the model number and make. Then put your drive back in the PC in the opposite order I just mentioned above. This whole process is very simple and should only take about 5 min to complete.
