I have a .wav file that is a classical music piece that I recorded from radio to a cd, but I ran out of cd space and the music ends abruptly. Before I burn it to another cd is there any way I can edit the very end of the .wav file so that the music fades out slowly to nothing.

    Thanks, Richie

In Audacity go to "File" and load in your file, then highlite any part that you want to cut and then click on "Cut".Then you can highlite as much of the end as you want and click on "Effect" then "Fade Out" Hope this is understandable.

Thanks, worked great. Do you know if this is one of those pgms. that expires after a set amount of time, like a trial version ?

Also, I'm trying to figure out how to combine 2 or 3 wav files into one. Will this pgm. do that ?

Just read the "faq's" and yes it is possible and it's described there.
