I'm considering buying it. However I've been disappointed with capture devices before, the last being Dazzle DVC 90, which I found out you need one hell of a system to get it working properly, anhd still drop frames.

So before I throw myself into another purchase, I want to think it over. What I want is good quality, and at a fairly low price, that's all I want, I don't really mind about MPEG-2 encoding and all.

So basically, for those who have the PVR 250, is it as good as people say, and if possible could you maybe link me to a screen capture of a video capture you've done, so I can see the quality?

    Thanks, Fred

PS: If there are any other devices out there that might suit me, do tell.

The dazzle90 is a toy compared to the PVR-250.
    Here's a PVR-250 screenshot.
Beware Dialup users. It's an uncompressed .bmp

Shrunk only in aspect, otherwise uncompressed.

I have the PVR-250 and it is kick ass. Only thing is make sure you get the new drivers off of their site otherwise the video doesn't look as good. Only thing I don't like about the card is that it doesn't let me stream with Windows Media Encoder over my network. (Still working on it). Has anyone got it stream?

The drivers from http://www.shspvr.com are even better.
The updated mpeg decoder from hauppauge is a bit better. Use Mainconcept or Intervideo nonCSS for even better.
    I stream with videolan.

I want to be able to pick it up on my Pocket PC, there is a videolan for PPC but have never been able to get it to work. Has anyone?
