Hi! I need to buy a new computer, but I want to be sure I get what I need to burn DVD's as efficiently as possible. I don't want to regret I didn't get more RAM or got too slow of a drive, didn't get that hyper threading(HT)processor or whatever. I'm concerned about cost, but I don't want to get stuck with a computer that isn't good enough or tests my patience. I don't understand too much about what each component does for the big picture. What should I make sure my computer has to make my DVD copying experience as pleasant as possible and why? Thanks! Stan
Youd be better asking in the hardware section. However, id buy as much of everything you can afford big hard drive 120gb+ minimum dvd +-RDL 16x pioneer make a good one A08 dvd rom just about any will do at least 512mb fast ram PC3200 Cpu i prefer AMD for value and oc ability anything modern will suffice Remember that no matter what you buy, it will be outdated in a month, best bet is to spend 75% of top of the line for good price v performance The computer in my sig (with the extra drives/dvd burners removes) didnt cost me a great deal and does everything i need to backup, limited games, office work which is what i need. Obviously if your a game junkie you will want the latest graphics card etc
if anything don't get a pentium celeron proccesser..try gettin a pentium 4 or an AMD athlon 3000+ or over...get at least a 2.0 ghz proccesser with 512 MBRAM recommended for playing 3D games such as call of duty...half life...doom 3 etc. get a NVIDEA GEFORCE 2 for ur video card...don't get NVIDEA GEFORCE 4 because i had a lot of problems with it.....spend more money on whats inside ur pc that what it looks like..i got a pc with lights in it and i have problems bcuz i didn't spend enough money on the insides...uless u have a large budget goin...worry more about whats inside that the looks....
