Help with matshita sw-9581?

hi there

Ive just got a matshita sw 9581 too and im having some major problems with it, mostly the fact that it wont recognise any dvd's i put in the drive at all, itll read cds but wont write them and obviously wont write dvds as it wont even register theres anything there...

The place i got it from reckons it could be driver issues, but couldnt be any more help than that, any suggestions? ive tried updating the firmware but that doesnt seem to work, so can anyone give me any more suggetions?

Did it come branded as Matshita (Matsushita)or as Panasonic?

 

it came as a matshita...

and to think, i had a pioneer a04 before this but i got rid of it with my old system... serves me right really...

 

lol - You shouldve have kept the Pioneer without a doubt. I've seen a few threads with a problem with this device.
