hi, i recently bought an xbox with the samsung 616 modded dvdrom. anyways i was trying to play my backups in it and they would not read. i have evox, modchip, the dashboard, you know, the works. i think its the media(dvd+r, i hear there hard to find working ones for xboxs)but i wanted to make sure.. so i took(with permission of course) a friends xbox dvd-rom(thompson) and hook it to my xbox to see if it was my dvdrom that would not read it. anyways i plugged it up and powered up, but it just a quiet tick sound and the fan spun for half a sec and it shut off. i said oh well and hook it back up to my friends xbox. all of a sudden the same thing happened to his. i hope theres something i can do to help it because i dont want to have to buy him a new dvdrom.
