first of all, my house has a network already built into it. the phone jacks are also LAN ports. the switch box is in the master bedroom closet. and i have Cable internet.

    so here's my scenario.
in my living room, from the cable wall plug to the modem.
from the modem to a wireless router.
from the wireless router to the LAN wall port.
    in another room.
from the LAN wall port to a normal router.
from the router to a laptop.
    no internet.

    although.
from the LAN wall port to a laptop.
    it has internet.

so i'm basically using my laptop to test, so that i can use normal router for my consoles, but it's not working.

    So? What's the question?
You may have loose wires, faulty hardware, etc.
Are you using rg11 or rg45?
That one connector may be the only good one.
