ilo dvd recorder model dvdr05

    my recorder is plugged in but will not power up.

    there have been numerous threads about the ilo 05.

    Basically, most are defective and can not be repaired.

    The company that made them for walmart went out of business.

    I threw mine in the trash and will never buy an off brand product from walmart.

    If I remember right, there is some type of trick where you hold the powerbutton for 10 seconds while you plug it in the wall and it will turn on, but you must leave it turned on. Or maybe it was hold the power button and another button while plugging it in. If you have the manual look for something like that or search for threads about the ilo.

    ok, here is the thread that i posted with the same problem.

    The solution is "Holding the record button down for 5 or more seconds is what got it to start up. I tried this many, many times but it finally worked."

    ps, if you have any recordings you want to save, be sure to "finalize" them if and when you get the ilo working.

    The ilo unit will die sooner or later and your recordings will not play on other players unless they are finalized on the ilo.
