I bought the ilo recorder with harddrive at Wal-Mart which I have since returned. It would not play purchased DVD movies. I know it won't record copyprotected material. But does that mean it won't play it either. I applied the latest firmware before returning it. I hoped to use the unit as a player as well as a recorder. I am wondering if I should try another ilo form Wal-Mart. Did I have a bad unit, or is playing a commercial DVD beyond its expected functions. Thanks Steve
The ILO will play commercial DVDs fine. They did have a problem with ARCCOS protected discs for a while but was fixed with the latest firmware. It sounds like it was just a bad unit.
