installing codecs

Discussion in 'MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 encoding (AVI to DVD)' started by mayela77, Apr 9, 2005.

I have installed all codecs as described in a previous post. When I try to burn a file to a DVD, the picture rolls. I understand, by looking at G-Spot, that the MPEG codec is not installed. I installed it again and I still get the same problem. Can someone help me with installing MPEG codecs correctly?

Did you install them using a codec pack?

You'll need an MPEG-2 decoder in order to view DVDs on your computer. When you install, for instance, PowerDVD, it will install an mpeg-2 decoder so that you can use their player to watch dvds.

Check out this link on the K-Lite codec packs. There are several to choose from. The Full and Mega version contain mpeg-2 decoders that you can use to view dvds.
