    Hey I just saw this dvd player on ebay(http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=50599&item=5726501947&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW) and it says it plays Divx/.avi files...would that mean you could just burn .avi files as data to a dvd and it would play em? That is great if its true, because avi are such a pain to encode, I hope all dvd players now start having this feature.

    It will be great if all players support generic MPEG4, not just specific DivX content.
    Until then, there will always be AVIs that will refuse to play, but it's a start...
