    howdy people,
i have been having problems watching video's on my tv through my xbox360.
it has recently been coming up with this message:
    media center eror extender error
an error has occured while using your media center extender. to continue, reset your device.
for more infortmation about resetting your extender, refer to your hardware documentation.

i dont get what im meant to do, reset the xbox. but surely doing this will result in all my game saves and music etc stored on its hard drive being erased.
whay has it done this any help will be appreciated.
    thanks

Most likely your Firewall is not configered to allow Media Centre.

To test it, turn off your fire wall, then try and play an mp3 from your xbox 360. If it works, turn your firewall back on and configure it to allow Mediacentre.

I have Norton Anti Virus which allows you to specify apps such as Media Centre. Some other Firewalls need to you to specify the specific ports that Media Centre uses.

You can find the ports needed here
