I don't use WinDVD, but have you been through all of the options to make sure that isn't set up to pan and scan?

I don't use my PC to watch movies...I use my regular TV. I've watched a few on my laptop using WMP and have had no issues with widescreen or pan and scan formats.

    taylor30,
Do you have a separate Video Card(one not built in to the MOBO. On my ATI card I set the card up to show the movies as Widescreen as that is what my monitor is.

My video card is built in and the monitor is not widescreen.

    taylor30,
You are not going to get Widescreen on a fullscreen monitor. You will get a cut version of the movie. It will clip off the sides as your monitor does not support WS. You should though get a black bar at the top and bottom

I don't even get the black bars the movie is in Fullscreen. How do I adjust it so I get the blackbars like on my tv screen.

Try playing the movie with Windows Media Player and see what happens?

It has been a while since I used WinDVD but if memory serves me correctly all you should have to do is right click on the screen while the movie is playing and select from several different screen formats.
