MPG-2 to AVI

    I have an MPG-2 file and want to convert to avi, i'm using virtualdub to convert but the file ends up being over 5 gig in size from 800MB.
    Does anyone know how i can convert to avi and keep the file size down?

    Get virtualdubmod.
    Open the mpg.
    Select Video, compression, and select something like Divx, or msmpeg4, or xvid.
    Select File, save avi.

    Cheers for the reply Jim, unfortunetly VirtualDubMod crashes when i click on compression, i'll put up another post asking why that is.
