mpg4 file decompressor?

    i tried to convert an avi file to an mpeg file for burning on a vcd using TMPGEnc, but instead of opening the file, TMPGEnc pops up an error message that says "you do not have the right decompressor for mpg4 files." does anyone know where i can download a codec or soemthing for this?

    DivX? Does the file play on your computer?

    yea, i have divx and it will play on my computer. i've opened other files with TMPGEnc but for some reason, 3 of them won't open. it says i cannot be opened or is unsupported

    if you visit this - http://www.sm-art.hu/link/codec/mpeg4x.zip - you will find the mpg4 file decompressor - i also encountered the same problem and this cleared iit up (you will ned winzip or some sort of unzipping program on your pc (i think)
