hi ok, lets start over! is the disc you are trying to copy an original? if it is it needs riping to your hard drive (ripping = take out copy protection etc....) have you done this? infact what app did you use to get the files to hard drive? --------------------------- something extra to this too is this line of report! [bold]DiskPeripheral : Maxtor 98196H8 atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: Off [/bold] need to turn it on like your 2 cd/dvd drives has... you will get faster performance from your PC!
Hi, the dvd is a copy. I opened the dvd in explorer and simply copied the information into my hard drive. Is there some different way to copy the files? I also tried doing a direct copy using nero express and while its forming the image around 90% it gives error. Also where do I change DiskPeripheral : Maxtor 98196H8 atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: Off to On. thanks
You [bold]must[/bold] "decrypt" the files from the DVD. You can't simply copy them from the DVD to your hard drive. The best program I've found for this is [bold]DVD Decrypter[/bold]. Go here to get it: http://www.dvddecrypter.com/index.php?act=download c4evap
You'd really benefit from reading the "Need Help? Read this" post and hitting bbmayo's guides. Good luck!
I downloaded dvd decrypter. Its good and easy to work with, I read the sites guideline on how to use it, and it was very simple. "You must "decrypt" the files from the DVD. You can't simply copy them from the DVD to your hard drive. The best program I've found for this is DVD Decrypter."
Oh, OK. Thought that might help you. It is a really great program. Be sure to get into the configuration of the program. It does other functions on the files as well. All should be in the documentation. c4evap
I am having the same problem trying to use Nero to burn a dvd whichwas downloaded using a bit torrent client. As this was not something sourced from any kind of commercially released DVD there should be no encrypting of any of the files. Is DVD Derypter something that might be able to help with this since I don't have the original source?
@ sirbill we need more info what were the files to start with? what is the whole process you are doingvfrom start to finish!
