I reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled DVD Shrink and Nero. DVD Shrink shrinks the DVD then when Nero starts to burn it says "Could not perform start of disk at once". What is the problem? I am using the same media and everything. Nero version 6321 the one now. Also, DVD Shrink I've tried both 3.1 and 3.2

Well I'm sure it's just a typo, but the current Nero is 6.3.1.20 and Nero Vision v2.1.2.18

When you installed Nero, did you happen to install Nero's InCD4?

Thanks flip. That is a typo to. Sorry :). No, I didn't install InCD. Don't know what that really is. I saw it on the website but didn't install it. Do you think I need it??

Anyways I've noticed a lot of people having problems with shrink and nero after reformatting and so forth. I got mine fixed. I updated the firmware from the manufacture's website and it worked perfectly. I didn't install this when I first installed the drive so, I didn't think it would need it now. I guess it somehow gets erased from the drive when reformatted. So, if you having problems try updating firmware.

No ... you shouldn't install packet writing software. Are you using XP?

    Yes indeed :)

How about XP's packet writing software?

IMAPI can be disabled by following these steps:

    Start >
    Control Panel >
    Administrative Tools >
    Services >

Now scroll down to IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service and double click it.

In the Properties window under the General tab look for the Startup Type drop down menu and select Disabled. Click OK and you're good to go.
