When I playback my DVD's they skip or just stop and get a horrible picture distortion and it stops. Is this my player or maybe my media? I would greatly appreciate any help.

It could be any number of things..

    1. could be your player (try on several other players if you could)

    2. what program did you use to rip the moive

3 .at what speeds did you rip the moive

    4. at what speed was the movie burnt, how old is the disc

    5. what brand media is it.

    6. what type of drive did you burn it in... what version of firmware is on the drive.

    Coby and a Philips.

I am burning MPG files which I authored with TMPGNC

    Burned at 4x

Fujifilm disks which I bought 2 days ago

Lite-On 415S , as for firmware I went to the firmware site and all that was listed was something for it to be multi-region.

the only thing i can think is that you didnt use the highest quality settings to reincode the video files.
