    hi,

    what is a FFXI account?

    lets try this first:

Look in your control panel's add/remove programs for any of these:
    uninstall if present

    ClickSpring
    Cowabanga by OIN
    ipwindows / ipwins
    MediaTickets

    OIN
    Outer Info Network
    PurityScan

if you dont see any of them then:
    download and run this uninstaller:

I'm sorry, FFXI is Final Fantasy 11 online, its a MMORPG. Role playing game online. Ive read that a couple sites that everyone visits, someone had put keylogger's on the ad banners that are on those sites and got alot of ppl's ID and passwords and stole their accounts. I was told that there is something on my PC for them to do that, wanting to find it and remove it. A tech from the company told us that the only way you could find it was to disconnect from the net and its imbedded in the registry. ??????

    new hjt log, thanks

    hi,

that was worth a try. lets do this:

first we will use hjt, then boot into sfe mode to look for some files.

    hjt:

start HJT, click the "Scan" button. check the items below, close any open windows, then click "Fixed checked"

might want to copy/paste this into notepad and save it so you can find it in safe mode. to reach safe mode tap the f8 key during a conputer reboot. chose the first option on the list: safe mode.

once at the safe mode desktop see if you can find these files a nd delete them:

C:\Program Files you are looking for: ?ymbols\s?rvices.exe
looks like a folder spelled ymbols, the ? could be anything
inside the folder is a .exe delete the entire folder.

C:\Documents and Settings\Shane Farr\Application Data you are looking for: s?curity\l?gonui.exe (another folder with a exe inside.

if you dont see the application folder do this:

    1. Right click on Start > Explore > Tools > Folder Options > View.
    2. Under "Files and Folders" check the radio buttons for:
    3. "Show hidden files and folders", and
    4. uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types", and
    5. uncheck "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)" > click "Yes" to the pop-up window > and then click "OK."

these are in the system32 dir:
sort list by date, these files should be newer in date:
