Total noob here. I installed PowerDVD about a month ago and all was working fine until yesterday, now all I get is audio and no video. I thought it might be currupt or something so I uninstalled and reinstalled it again but still no video. PowerDVD tends to hang up when first started. When I go to the Task Manager it shows it's not responding then quickly changes to responding and it trys to work after I exit the Task Manager but all I get is a black screen with audio. I'm running Win2K and Adaptec ASPI v4.71.2 What can I do to make this work again? NymRod
I installed DVD X Copy XPress so I could backup a DVD-5 which worked ok but haven't installed any codecs other than the Adaptec to get PowerDVD to play the videos.
Here's my ASPI installation. I still have audio only and no video. How can I get this going again? NymRod
I only have WMP 7, I don't like version 9. Are there any good free DVD players around? I downloaded one that had spyware in it and it took me over an hour to get rid of all that garbage. I downloaded another one from nonags named Subhash but I can't get it to play a DVD either. NymRod
That one didn't work for me either. After installing it I got an error message with PowerDVD when I placed a DVD in the drive saying something wasn't installed right. I uninstalled PowerDVD again but this time I used the uninstaller provided with it instead of Add/Remove programs. After installing it again PowerDVD now works fine. Thanks for the help. NymRod
