Program which automatically plays subtitles on Windows Media Player?

    before, all i had to do was rename the subtitle file so it had the same name as the video file and it would automatically play the subtitles, but then my dad deleted some program that was on our comp and it doesn't do it anymore. does anyone know what the name of this program is? thanks.
