How can the R4 and M3 be so similar? Is there no 'patents' in the pirate hardware community?

I've been offered an R4 as a replacement for an out of stock M3.

Honestly I wanted to go with the M3 because its got plenty of reputation....

How is the R4 holding up? Is it a new product? I can't find any reviews.

The R4 and M3 are identical becuase they are made by the same factory, the only difference is the M3 stick their label on it.
I would take the R4 as a replacement if i was in your position.

Scorpei.com has a review on the M3 DS Simply and R4(DS).

I've had my R4 for over a month and it's worked flawlessly. If they want you to take an R4 as replacement i'd also tell them you want a little bit of money back for the hassle and also because the R4 is generally cheaper to buy.

    sorry i didn't reply..

I've received the R4 and I love it.

I was given my $5 back, difference between the m3 & r4 and they included a 2gb microsd for being delayed.

    modchipstore.com

    why is the r4 cheaper?

Got my R4 couple of days ago. Worked for one night but the spring retainer broke. I sent it back to Realhotstuff.com for replacement.

i got a 2gb and I won't be popping it in and out, i read about the spring problem.... i wish the usb adaptor let you plug the nds cart in instead of the microsd fingernail.
