There's a reason the file is there right? for the game.
most games are over 1 gig. your talking about ripping over 300megs or more?

yes I had a web site that shows to get a dvd9(8.5gigs) to a dvd5(4.7gigs) but my RAID card crashed and i lost all my Favorites lists with every thing else. i have like 12 games i need to get back down to dvd5 format and also need help. you are right that you can remove fills or ripping them out to get on a cdr but most xboxs wont play cdr's you might check with a burned music cd. then what i would do is look in the file for .mov .mp3 files then take them out and burn on a CDRW cheap and more beter then a couster. also like stated above get a dvd burner it's about time for the fat guy to put it under the tree too, newegg.com for around 70bucks you can get one.

I thought all the file were to be used for game play at sometime throughout the game. I think if you remove files, be it .mpg or .mp3 files the game will not work, when you get to the place in the game when the line of code calls for a particular file it won't be there and the game will fall over.

Am I wrong in thinking this??

i have deleted all the dashupdate.xbe files and update.xbe files for fear of it updating my dashboard (even though it's easily fixable). all my games work fine.
