service pack 2 from MS... some question .please help

    hello all..

    I'm new to this forum. i dunno if i posted this here correctly... feel free to move it if you want..

    I recently downloaded the service pack 2 from microsoft for my win Xp... now everytime i want to download let say a program for www.download.com
    a message show up saying "your current setting do not allow this file to be downloaded".....

    please show me how to change my setting so i can download files...

    SP2 breaks a lot of older/shady/grey-market/freeware/non-compliant software.
    Newer, SP2-compatible versions are popping up all over the place.
    I would say that your download manager is now broken...
    You must refer to Micro$haft documentation to review the newly implemented security settings in SP2.
    Remember: you asked for it :)

    I think it's your cookies or Windows Firewall. Try disabling the Windows Firewall (It's unnecessary unless you like to piss hackers off) AND lowering your security settings in Tools > Options
