Yea i have a splitter...didn't think it may be the prob. I'll try without and see what happens.. I'm on C****s and version 4.5, i mentioned it already. Also some of my friends in celbridge have the same provider and same box and works fine........not digital....... Thanks for the help....
Some parts of Celbridge has been upgraded recently to some extent, you may still be in an analouge area, you cannot get all channels in an analogue area, ring your provider to verify wheter you are analogue or digital.
Thank's for the help guys. I just checked the C****s site and Scouser is right it appears i am in an Analogue area...parts of celbridge are digital...looks like i'll have to wait a while....
hi mates...i m new to this forum...and have the same problem... got my new starview today...but it cant pick any channels... after scan i get the message "no program found"... i called the seller who told me to try it at a friends' place to see if it has the same prob and he would replace it... if i plug the cable directly into my tv...i get 1-5 plus bbc news 24 plus hallmark channel...so i guess the cable coming into my flat is live???... although i m in analogue area ...cud that be a prob??? any comments or help will be much appreciated...tks
yes that will be your problem as per above also. your using a digital box on an analogue feed so wont pick anything up. even though you can connect tyhe line direct to tv and get a few channels.
Just got new Starview 2 from Wizard UK. After installation only few channels installed. Tried manual scans but no joy. Advised to Press menu and 1570 and check EMU is on but box does not respond at all when I key in 1570. Have tried lots of times and switched off and back on but still no joy - anybody got any ideas on this?
desgally i bought from same place no problems.. you need to flash the box with 4.50 for ireland or 4.51 for uk, you will then be able to access hidden menu using the 1570 and do the rest
What area are you in and provider have you got ? You will need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F. Null modem info http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6 If your pc does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable. USB Adapter info http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx...t10&doy=search&MenuName=USB to Serial Adaptor These two cable links are only for reference as they can be purchased alot cheaper on fleabay. All firmware/loader can be found in the link at the end of my post marked Eamos Library. You will need the GTromloader, (Starvi*w Software Uploader), found in the "THE B0X" software folder of the link. You will need version 4.50 firmware for IRELAND found in "THE B0X" firmware folder. You will need version 4.51 firmware for UK found in "THE B0X" firmware folder. And please download the Starvi*w PDF guide,(this will give you step by step instructions on how to do everything. This can be found in the Starvi*w Documentation folder in the link.
